The Plays

  1. Gale – First staged by UPRISE at the University of the Philippines, Diliman in 1993, “Gale” is a one-act, one-woman play about an adolescent coming to terms with her place in the world. It also illustrates the struggle of a young girl against masculine authority as she seeks authenticity in the people whom she trusts the most.

Character

Gale – Lena Nesus. Lena is a student at the PWU-HK and works for a family in Hong Kong. This is her first foray into the performing arts.

  1. Connection – Originally intended as a short film, “Connection” is a one-act play about May and Lee, two long-time, out-of-touch friends whose relationship turns sour after May gives Lee an unexpected phone call.

Characters

May – Mel Santos. Mel is a student at the PWU-HK and works for a family in Hong Kong. This is her first attempt at acting in a box theatre.

Lee – Leslie Lee.
